Ambassador William Taylor gave testimony today that is the most damning to date. Taylor said, among many other things, that “everything” depended on Ukraine not only undertaking the two investigations President Trump sought, but also on making a public announcement stating he was going to investigate Joe Biden and the 2016 election. He notes that “in August and September of this year, I became increasingly concerned that our relationship with Ukraine was being fundamentally undermined by an irregular, informal channel of U.S. policy-making and by the withholding of vital security assistance for domestic political reasons.”
